Sucker Punch TK

Even though they warned you with the tagline, you still will be unprepared for the monumental, mind-bending, Sucker Punch.

From the brain of 300 and Watchmen director Zack Snyder, comes a shock to the system in a thrilling, dark, action-packed feast for the senses. You don’t just watch a Snyder movie; you really do experience it.

From the very first scene, Sucker Punch’s heroine Emily Browning’s “Baby Doll” has your eyes glued to the screen, heart in your throat, hoping she has a happy ending. It doesn’t look good after her evil stepfather has her committed to a mental institution run by a vile man, but our Baby Doll retreats into her own reality and envisions a plan to escape her tormentors with the aide of fellow babes/patients, Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), Amber (Jamie Chung), and sisters Rocket (Jena Malone), and Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish).

The girls battle gloriously in fantasy realms, taking out zombie Nazi soldiers, robot drones, and deadly dragons in their quest to escape their demonic actual reality. With Snyder’s awesome special effects on rampant display and a fantastic soundtrack (Seriously, check out Emilliana Torrini’s cover of “White Rabbit” and Yoav’s beautiful rendition of The Pixies “Where Is My Mind” immediately, if not sooner!), the movie takes you on an absorbing adventure, even if the end destination is a little sparse.

Get your guns blazing and check out Sucker Punch, in theaters now, for a fantastic, butt-kicking ride meant to be enjoyed on a big screen.
