5 Reasons Ingrid Nilsen's President Obama Interview Will Rock

After the uber important State of the Union address (which is tonight, by the way) YouTube is continuing on with their tradition of giving their best and brightest a chance to chat with the President.

This Friday the site will be hosting a live interview with the President hosted by Destin Sandlin, Adande Thorne (better known as sWooZie) and the lovely Ingrid Nilsen. The YouTubers will be asking President Obama about things that are important to them individually, but they are also taking suggestions from their audiences and fans on social media.

While we're excited about the live discussion as a whole, there is one part that we're slightly more excited about: Ingrid Nilsen. Here's why she is an excellent choice for this position and why we are so stoked for her:

1. She's hilarious

Many people have an urge to write Ingrid off. She's a so-called "beauty and lifestyle guru," which leads people to wrongly assume she cannot be both a beauty & lifestyle expert and also be funny as hell. Trust us, she's both.

Any interview with her is going to result in laughs and plenty of gif-able moments.

2. She's unexpected

As previously mentioned, Ingrid's YouTube channel is devoted to mostly lifestyle and beauty, one that people might (wrongly) fail to associate with a task as important as meeting the President. But here's the thing: That's exactly why she's an excellent choice. She'll bring her own unique point of view and background into this experience.

3. She's out

Ingrid famously came out on her channel last year in a video that has since received over 13 million views. Since coming out she has become a staple in the queer YouTube community. She has also already stated in a separate video that she is excited to discuss LGBT issues with the President on Friday. 

Basically, come Friday, our girl is going to have our backs.

4. She's a delightful human being

One viewing of any of Ingrid's videos will tell you all that you need to know about her. She's the human form of a sassy kitten merging with a playful and energetic puppy. She's kind of like that girl you knew in high school who was inexplicably everything you wanted to be. She's beautiful, (obviously) but also funny and brilliant and talented and kind and empathetic and positive and thoughtful. 

In short, she deserves this honor. She's a gift.

5. She's so excited about it

Earlier this week, Ingrid posted a video about how pumped she is for this event, and after watching it, we can't help but be even more excited ourselves. Especially when she mentions wanting to discuss not only LGBT issues with Mr. President, but also women's issues, healthcare, and unemployment.

You go, Ingrid.
