Ellen Page and her best friend Ian Daniel have been traveling the world exploring how LGBT communities exist in different cultures, and we're finally going to experience that journey for ourselves. Ellen and Ian's travels were documented for Gaycation - an upcoming TV series for Vice's new network Viceland - and will premiere on March 2nd. Judging from Buzzfeed's first look at the show, we'll all definitely want to tune in.

The trailer can only be watched on Buzzfeed's site, but it's a must-see. In the trailer, Ellen and Ian travel to cities including Tokyo, Rio De Janeiro, and Jamaica to meet people from all walks of life with a range of experiences, often including hatred and violence towards their sexuality. In an interview with Buzzfeed, Ellen explained just how much the show meant to her:

"I think I expected to definitely have emotional experiences, I don’t know if I would have anticipated…I don’t think you can anticipate the actual degree of what you’re going to feel...I’m a privileged person. I’m a privileged gay person. [The show] helped me understand, even more so, how much more vulnerable people are."

As for why they made the show in the first place? Ian, who is also gay, gave a touching response: "At the end of the day, we hope to expand people’s minds and their hearts. I don’t know if that sounds cheesy but it’s just that simple."

The show will also feature Ellen's now-famous confrontation with presidential nominee Ted Cruz, a trip to Jamaica's first-ever Pride parade, and an exploration of Ellen and Ian's personal experiences. We are so ready to watch Gaycation, and we hope it really does make a difference.
