Ashley Graham Is the Perfect Role Model the Fashion World Is Looking Up To
Ashley Graham turned heads at New York Fashion Week after she showed her line of lingerie for plus-size women (a highly-anticipated collaboration with the Additional Elle brand), and although she has been on the scene for a while now, this year has really been a big one for her so far, making her a more and more in-demand model and activist.
For those of you who still haven't heard of Ashley (yet), she is a gorgeous plus-size model from Lincoln, Nebraska who serves a fierce face unlike any other model before her.
She works incredibly hard, and she uses her talents as a model and her public platform to try to get women and young girls to be positive about their bodies, no matter what size they are.
In addition to the activism she does for women of size, she is also a champion for racial diversity in the modeling world, often co-starring in campaigns that are inclusive of plus-size women of color.
Ashley is so inspiring, she even held a TED Talk earlier this year where she recounted her journey as a plus-size model in an industry that is full of body-shamers, explained why it's so important to have body diversity in mainstream media, and told of the importance of young girl's being confident in their looks and bodies.
She was also one of the featured models in Lane Bryant's ground-breaking #PlusIsEqual campaign.
And she has already been profiled in big name style mags likeVogue, Glamour, and Elle (ever heard of 'em?).
Basically, Ashley is fashion's next great activist superstar. If there was every anyone deserving of such a title, it would definitely be her.
