In something of a departure from her role as an unbalanced violent criminal (albeit one to whom we are slowly warming) in women's prison drama Orange is the New Black, the inimitable Uzo Aduba (Suzanne 'Crazy Eyes' Warren) has been cast as Good Witch of the South Glinda in NBC's new version of The Wiz musical.

The Wiz, first performed in 1974, tells the classic children's story with a cast of all people of color. The NBC TV version is shaping up quite nicely with Queen Latifah playing The Wiz, Mary J. Blige as Evillene, Glee's Amber Riley as Addaperle, and Stephanie Mills (the original Dorothy on Broadway) as Auntie Em.
