Ellen DeGeneres' New Lifestyle Brand "E.D." Makes Her Our Martha Stewart
Ellen DeGeneres proves she's more than just an entertainment brand as she begins her latest venture in design: E.D., a lifestyle brand featuring home decor, fashion, and pet fashion.The name E.D., pronounced 'Ed,' comes from the nickname that Ellen's wife, Portia de Rossi, calls her. Looks like Ellen has the potential to become our lesbian Martha Stewart!
According to WWD, E.D. will launch in time for holiday shopping during October and November with select pieces to furnish your home: mug sets, plate sets, coasters, bar sets, candles, pillows, and blankets. For apparel, there will be a pajama and slippers combo that will be available for purchase.
By spring, E.D. will have clothes and accessories available for men, women, and even pets. When asked for details, DeGeneres mused, “I don’t want to be specific because I don’t want people stealing my ideas.”
Degeneres teamed up with J. Christopher Burch of Burch Creative Capital to create the brand. Burch discussed with WWD about the collaboration with DeGeneres, “This is not a ‘we give Ellen a percentage of sales’. We are aligned at every level, her team and my team.”
