WATCH: Ellen Page and Jennifer Lawrence in New X-Men Days of Future Past Trailer

The X-Men: Days of Future Past teaser is here! And it features Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. That’s worth the price of admission alone.

The newest trailer for the film, directed by Bryan Singer, includes previously unseen footage of the terrifying Sentinels, robots created to target and kill mutants.

Days of Future Past is based on one of the most famous storylines from the original X-Men comic books. Written by Chris Claremont and drawn by John Byrne, a group of X-Men from the future go back in time to warn the X-Men of the present that they must prevent a history in which mutants are hunted down and forced into interment camps. The film version follows a similar plot, with enemies Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) putting aside their long-standing differences to warn their younger selves (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, respectively) of an impending war on mutantkind.

The highly anticipated film is scheduled for release in the United States on May 23, 2014. A sequel, currently titled X-Men: Apocalypse, has already been calendared for May 27, 2016.
