Multihyphenate talent Jennifer Lopez stopped by Ellen DeGeneres' talk show yesterday to dish about her many projects, including The Fosters, our favorite ABC Family series, on which she serves as an executive producer.
Lopez praised the series and its crew, saying she was inspired to take on a possibly "controversial" project because of her mother's lesbian sister.
"I watched her, and she was my favorite aunt, she was the cool aunt," Lopez said. "I thought about her, and I thought, 'This would be such a great thing for me to do in her memory.' Because she did have a tough time with growing up and being gay."
She also showed off photos of her aunt to the audience, while DeGeneres applauded both Lopez and ABC Family for putting The Fosters on the air.
