Bridget McManus and Fran Nichols star in this sweet story of unrequited love.

The company that's long been dedicated to delivering fun, thoughtful, sharply produced queer content for women, tello films, has a new lesbian-themed web series, Maybelle, debuting on Dec. 13.

The six-part series stars actress and comic Bridget McManus (Brunch with Bridget, Cowgirl Up, McManusland, The Queen Latifah Show) as a gay woman in rural Virginia, who quit school and halted her life to care for her ailing mother. But when Maybelle’s mother passes away, her world opens up to possibility, namely pursuing her life-long love for her high school best friend Della (New Orleans-based actress and comic Fran Nichols), who is married to a man. Despite having married her college boyfriend, Della still has a place in her heart for Maybelle. The pulp promo art is no doubt a nod to the idea of forbidden love.

Maybelle is written by McManus and directed by tello's Christin Baker, who've shared with us an exclusive clip of when Maybelle and Della lock eyes for the first time in a long time, and the tension is palpable.

Check out this tale of first love and desire.
