Netflix’s New YA Series ‘Heartstopper’ Has the Gays in Shambles

Netflix premiered its latest YA series Heartstopper last week and it's looking like a certified hit!

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman, the LGBTQ+ series centers the budding romance between Charlie (the one out kid at his school) and Nick (a rugby player realizing he might not be as straight as he once thought). Other love stories swirl around them: Darcy and Tara are a bit nervous to come out as a couple while Elle, who recently transitioned and transferred into the girls' school, has to unpack her complicated feelings for a friend.

Not only does the adorable series have a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 9.1 on IMDB, but reactions have been going viral all weekend with tens of thousands of likes and retweets. Heartstopper has been consistently trending on Twitter since its release.
