The chaotic bisexual energy is strong in Netflix's fifth season of murderous teen soap Elite, and newcomer André Lamoglia is definitely an agent of that chaos.
The LGBTQ+ inclusive show is already very queer and Lamoglia drops right into the world as Iván who quickly develops feelings for a pair of twins: Patrick and Ari. While he at first denies his feelings for Patrick, Manu Rios' character proves to be quite powerful and while we won't spoil too much, there are quite a few tense, homoerotic scenes between the two.
EXPAND
In his latest press tour for the show, Lamoglia says that while he was nervous filming the sex scenes, he was made very comfortable with Rios. "I’ll be honest. Before I got to Spain, when I got cast, I was worried about filming those scenes,” the Brazillian actor said. “Mainly because I’ve never done a scene like that in my career before. So I kept thinking about the logistics of how it would be done.
"After I arrived here in Madrid, it was much more relaxed than I imagined. When we film the scenes, the team is reduced on set. We have an intimacy coordinator, precisely for those scenes, to make us more comfortable, more prepared, to bring more truth to the scene."
He added that he "didn’t do any scenes completely naked. We had protection, a sex cover. They call it a thong or a sock, something like that." Considering everything after the fact, "it was a lot easier to film than I thought. I felt really comfortable when I had to do them."
Lamoglia credits his friendship with Rios for the sparks flying in the scene. "The fact that we get along is great for the series and the scenes because you already have a certain intimacy, a certain chemistry." The two have since become close friends “in and out of work."
He also put some rumors to rest as far as online claims of using a body double or stuffing his underwear go. "Everything is mine! All mine," he said.
Season 5 of Elite is available to watch on Netflix now. Check out the trailer below:
