HBO Max’s Minx Is So Steamy That Instagram Nuked a Promo Post
Watch it here! (You're welcome.)
HBO Max’s new show is already proving itself too racy for social media!
Minx follows a young feminist in the 1970s who has a hand in creating the first erotic magazine for women, so you know even from the description that the show is bound to get a little steamy.
But when actor Taylor Zakhar Perez, who has a recurring role in the series, posted a little clip from an episode, it immediately became clear Minx won’t be holding anything back.
“#Minx is so, so good. I’ve seen so much 🍆 — it’s wild.”— Marcie Bianco (@Marcie Bianco) 1648178322
The clip in question shows him walking through a locker room, seemingly fully nude, although a graphic was put in place to cover the bits that might not be appropriate for SFW scrolling.
Even that was apparently too much for Instagram. Perez later posted a notice from the social media company alerting him that his post had been removed for violating community guidelines.
“We don’t allow people to facilitate, encourage or coordinate sexual activity on Instagram,” reads the notification.
Instagram’s policies when it comes to nudity have long been under fire, and it’s not difficult to make the argument that this video, promoting a TV show, doesn’t amount to coordinating sexual activity.
Still, showing Instagram taking down a video for what amounts to being too racy may have been just as good of an advertisement to get people to go check the show out as the clip itself.
“Guess you’ll have to go to @HBOMax to watch,” Perez wrote.
Fortunately, the video didn’t get removed from the official @minxonmax account, and Perez was later able to reupload it himself as well, where it remains visible, at least for now.
Still, if this is just the promo, maybe it’s time to go watch those first three episodes of Minx and see what else we’re missing…
