Jonathan Bailey, star of Bridgerton whose character, Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, will become the lead of season 2, opened up about "the heart of the show."
He's referring to, of course, those steamy sex scenes.
In a new interview with Radio Times, Bailey remarked on how far the industry has come and pointed out some of the tricks the series' intimacy coordinator has shown the cast to keep everyone involved comfortable. "It’s amazing how that whole industry has just come on, even in a year. There are new tricks to the trade — little cushions — and it’s amazing what you can do with a half-inflated netball."
For us here in the states, netball is a British sport and the actual ball looks to be something between the feel of a basketball and a volleyball.
He went on to explain that actors must have "three barriers separating them" when they're filming. "There are certain acts where a half-inflated netball can allow for movement without having to connect physically. It’s pretty silly really and we have some hilarious moments, but it makes it less awkward."
Sex scenes feel more realistic than ever these days but it's nice to know that they actors involved are feeling safe and comfortable. And we're sure this means there's more to come in Season 2...
Bridgerton's second season premieres March 25th on Netflix.
