Watch Jesse Tyler Ferguson Present a Challenge to ‘Fast Foodie’ Chefs
Can they make Schlotsky's sourdough bread in thirty minutes?
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson appears on an upcoming episode of truTV's Fast Foodies where he challenges Top Chef winners Kristen Kish, Jeremy Ford, and Iron Chef winner Justin Sutherland to recreate and reimagine his favorite sandwich – and he's gobsmacked as they talk about making bread.
The show's premise is simple: the chefs compete "to recreate and remix Jesse's complicated sandwich" and the group quickly discovers "which chef rises supreme and which two chefs will be banished to Loserville, USA forever."
But the bread is no easy feat as the out actor picks Schlotsky's sourdough bread as the base, which is apparently not so simple to recreate on their time limit. The chefs start throwing out methods on sourdough and yeast while Tyler sits there more confused than entertained.
"I totally zoned out," he says as the chefs laugh.
