Super Bowl LV is nigh, which means a fresh round of commercials is here! Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy and Grammy-winner Lil Nas X both star in their own spots, which will premiere this Sunday during the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In X's commercial for Logitech, we get a clip of his new song "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" as creators using the products to do what they do best.
"We stand there in defiance. We the makers, we the ground-breakers, we the creators, the streamers...and dreamers," says X in the voice over. "We defy genres, algorithms, and entire industries. See we defy that little voice that says, 'Oh no we can't,' with a roar back that says, 'Oh yes we will!'"
"To create the future, we must defy the logic of the past."
Levy premiered his commercial on Good Morning America.
The ad features a series of people offering a bag of M&Ms as an apology for everything between a gender reveal party gone wrong and calling someone a Karen. Levy wraps up the commercial with icons, Ms. Brown and Ms. Green. "I promise I will not eat any more of your friends," he offers. Cut to Mr. Red locked in Levy's SUV. "Okay, it might happen one more time," Levy smiles, using a fob to lock his car.
These are just the first two LGBTQ+ stars we've seen in this year's ads so far. The Weeknd is all set to perform at this weekend's halftime show.
