One of the stars of Netflix's Hollywood is making his way to another beloved, groundbreaking Ryan Murphy show, Pose!
Openly gay, 27-year-old Tony nominee Jeremy Pope—who plays Archie, a Black gay screenwriter trying to get his movie made in the racist, white-dominated post-WWII film industry, in the upcoming limited series—is now taking his acting talents to the upcoming third season of FX's Pose!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy-winning writer, director, and producer Ryan Murphy cast Pope in season 3 of Pose after being blown away by his performance in Hollywood. Pope is also reportedly set to play a straight character in the ballroom-themed FX series who is much different from Archie on Netflix's Hollywood.
"I'm really interested in him doing that one, two punch of Hollywood as a gay person and Pose as a straight one," Murphy told THR.
"Ryan and I had an instant connection as creator and artist and what I appreciated was that he wanted to find this character together," Pope said about collaborating with Murphy on the Archie role.
Pose boasts TV's largest transgender cast and ever since its premiere in 2018, it has been breaking down barriers with its portrayal of Black and Brown queer people in the ballroom scene during the AIDS epidemic of the '80s and '90s.
Although we'll probably have to wait a while before it finally airs (season 3 was in production in New York City when the current global pandemic started forcing many industries to be put on hold), we can't wait to see the new season of Pose and to see more Jeremy on our screens!
