Tituss Burgess to Host New Wacky Cooking Competition Show
The world always needs more Tituss.
You can never have too much Tituss Burgess, and anyone who disagrees with that statement is seriously missing out on the joys of life.
Fortunately for the rest of us, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actor is about to make a graceful return to the small screen as the host of a new cooking competition show.
Dishmantled is a new series from the creator of Chopped, and will feature a cooking competition so bizarre that it’s possibly no one but Tituss could manage these hosting duties.
The competing chefs will literally be blasted in the face with a mystery food dish while blindfolded. They will then have do their best to figure out what the ingredients are, what the dish is, and recreate it in a timed challenge.
It’s the “high-octane cooking competition that will literally blow your socks off.”
Honestly, it kind of sounds like a recipe for disaster, but who would want to see Tituss hosting something serious anyway? His talents would be wasted.
Dishmantled isn’t the Broadway star’s only upcoming return to TV. He’s also joined the cast of an animated musical comedy show called Central Park, set to air on Apple’s new streaming service at some point in the future. The show has already received a two-season order and will also feature the voices of Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, and Stanley Tucci, among others.
And of course, we can’t forget about the upcoming Netflix interactive Kimmy Schmidt special. The content of this supposedly final foray into the world of Kimmy and Tituss and their wacky pals is still under wraps, but it will undoubtedly be worth tuning into.
Dishmantled doesn’t yet have an official premiere date, but it will be available on the new streaming service Quibi, which launches next spring.
