Bisexual YouTuber Lilly Singh to Host Late Night Talk Show on NBC
Bisexual Indian-Canadian YouTuber Lilly Singh is getting her own late night talk show on NBC.
The comedian is taking over for Carson Daly, who has hosted Last Call with Carson Daly since 2002.
Singh announced her new project on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon yesterday to a standing ovation from Fallon’s audience.
“To clarify, it’s not Jimmy’s spot,” she joked.
The show will be called A Little Late with Lilly Singh, and will probably be premiering sometime in September. Singh says it’s going to be somewhat like her YouTube channel, but they’re still working on creating everything the show will be.
She will be the only woman to have a late night talk show on one of the main four networks.
It was only at the end of February that Singh came out as bisexual in a very chill tweet, referring to herself as “female, coloured, bisexual.”
“✅ Female
✅ Coloured
✅ Bisexual

Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time. But now I’m fully embracing them as my superpowers.

No matter how many “boxes” you check, I encourage you to do the same x

❤️🧡💛💚💙”— Lilly (Be A Triangle Available Now) (@Lilly (Be A Triangle Available Now)) 1551056775
Making that declaration right before getting a late night network talk show, whether the deal was already solidified or still in the works, was a bold move worthy of applause.
But if you’ve ever watched her YouTube channel, you know Singh has never shied away from boldness, which should make the new show a great addition to the late night landscape.
