Jaboukie Young-White Calls Dibs on Jussie Smollett's Lifetime Film

"I hear there's a new role that might be opening up on Empire."

Comedian Jaboukie Young-White had some thoughts on the Jussie Smollett situation during last night's episode of The Daily Show

As the Chicago Police Department continues to investigate whether or not Smollett's reported hate crime was staged, Young-White uses humor to try to understand what motive the Empire actor would have to set all of this up, especially since, as The Daily Show's Senior Culture Correspondent says, "I look like him."

"Actually, I don't really think you look like him," Trevor Noah replies.

"Mmm, to white people I do," Young-White says. "And hopefully, to whoever is casting the Jussie Smollett Lifetime movie."

But why would Smollett do this?

"I don't know why he did it, man," says Young-White. "If he wanted to raise awareness for LGBTQ rights, he should've just donated money. If he wanted attention, he should've just leaked his nudes. And he wanted to hang out with two guys at 2 am, Grindr is right there."
