15 New TV Shows for LGBT People to Look Forward to in 2019

2018 was a hell of a year for LGBTQ television, especially for queer characters of color, which has us even more hyped for what 2019 has in store! But while some of our favorite queer characters reside on shows like How to Get Away with Murder and Will & Grace, television is growing so quickly we can barely keep up.
Well, here are your CliffsNotes! 15 new and upcoming shows with LGBTQ storylines we can't wait to binge!
Ruby Rose is putting on the cape for Batwoman. Reportedly darker and grittier that the rest of The CW's DC universe shows (Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow), Rose will play Bruce Wayne's lesbian cousin, Kate Kane, who takes over the superpowered responsibilities in his absence.
Batwoman's pilot episode is in production and hopefully coming Fall 2019.
Ellen Page stars in this upcoming series about a disbanded group of superheroes that reunite after their adoptive father, who trained them to save the world, dies.
The Umbrella Academy hits Netflix February 15, 2019.
Lohan's ready for a comeback with this reality series following the expansion of her business empire into a bar/restaurant on Mykonos.
Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club premieres January 8 on MTV.
Aliens live among us in this twenty-first century Roswell reboot. Donald Trump and illegal immigration are a hot topic in the series and reports of a gay kiss in the premiere have us counting down the hours.

This murderous teen drama is surprisingly queer and its first season had initiated conversations about polyamory, living with HIV, and even launched an entire fandom over its resident gay couple. Netflix has already renewed the Spanish series for a second season!
Élite season 2 premieres in 2019.
Brigette Lundy Paine plays Casey, the younger sister who's always looking out for her older brother living with autism. After many episodes of watching her subtly struggle with her sexuality, Casey finally allows herself to act on her attraction to another girl in the season 2 finale. We can't wait to see where this storyline goes!
Atypical season 3 premieres in 2019 on Netflix.
Some LA wannabees band together when the apocalypse begins. The main attraction is the reported gay romance between Avan Jogia and Tyler Posey's characters.
Now Apocalypse premieres March 10 on STARZ.
If you're not watching Pose, you need to get your sh*t together. Ryan Murphy explores the grace of the 1980s New York ballroom scene, the heartbreak of the AIDS crisis, and the resilient humanity of queer Black and brown people in this jaw-dropping FX series that features television's largest cast of transgender actors.

Pose's Indya Moore is producing the LGBTQ centered sci-fi anthology series.
Magic Hour hopefully premieres in 2019.
Yas henny! The Fab 5 have blessed with so many tears and quotable moments this year that we can't wait for more of this warm hug of a television show.
