Stephanie Tanner Is Confirmed Bisexual in New Fuller House Season?!
If you grew up in the 90s, you watched Full House. Period. End of story. If you say you didn’t, I’m going to assume you’re lying.
And let’s be honest, most of us millennials have gotten a little drunk and watched an episode or two or 50 of the current spin-off, Fuller House. The original cast is back! The theme song is by Carly Rae Jepsen! What’s not to love?!
Of course, the new show has been severely lacking in queer representation, despite DJ Tanner’s middle son clearly being a picture perfect gay character, and confusing occasional sexual tension between Stephanie Tanner and former nemesis Kimmy Gibler.
But no more.
Stephanie Tanner!
Dated!
A!
GIRL!!!!!
What?!??!???
Okay, so she doesn’t actually date the girl in the new show, but in episode eight of the newly released season four, she’s got a throwaway line that leaves no room for question:
“His clinic was only open for three weeks!” she tells DJ at an awards ceremony for best veterinarian in the Bay Area. “I had a girlfriend longer than that.”
Based on the reactions from the other cast members in the scene, and the quick cut out of it as even Jodie Sweetin herself starts laughing, it seems like there’s a really good chance Sweetin improvised the line on her own, but IT STAYED IN. IT’S CANON. NO TAKE BACKS!!!!
And now that it’s canon, we fully expect Fuller House to follow through and give Steph a girlfriend in season five. (Probably even just Kimmy??? I mean, SPOILER, but they are literally having a baby together this season.)
It does not get any gayer than this?!

Okay, maybe it gets a little gayer.
It's time to give the people what they want, Netflix!!! You're so close!!!!!
Because I think our only allowable reaction if we fail to get the proper in-show queer storyline is pretty obvious.
Just kidding. We riot at noon.
But bring your cleaning supplies, we don't want to leave a mess.
Rachel Kiley is presumably a writer and definitely not a terminator. She can usually be found crying over queerbaiting in the Pitch Perfect franchise or on Twitter, if not both.
