Closeted Icon Rock Hudson Is Getting a Greg Berlanti Directed Biopic

Greg Berlanti, the celebrated Riverdale Executive Producer, is setting his sights on some more gay film topics, specifically tackling the life and times of closeted Hollywood heartthrob Rock Hudson.

Berlanti, an openly gay man himself, is hot off the hollywood film press with the blockbuster success of the gay coming of age flick, Love, Simon. According to sources at Deadline, Berlanti will be directing an adaptation of the book ‘All That Heave Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson’.

Joining Berlanti in the showrunner arena is, reportedly, Sarah Schechter and Sherry Marsh – all of whom are gunning to bring the gay icon's story of forced heterosexuality during the golden age of Hollywood to life.

“When Sherry Marsh brought this book to us, we jumped at the chance to be involved." Says Berlanti. “Rock Hudson’s life and legacy is a vital piece of both LGBTQ history and Hollywood history and has to be given the big-screen treatment it deserves.”
