Ellen DeGeneres Using 'Finding Dory' to Trash Trump's Travel Ban Is Perfect

Ellen DeGeneres might insist she doesn't get political, but she just tore Trump's travel ban and wall-building plans to shreds using nothing but Finding Dory. While discussing how she intends not to discuss the travel ban yesterday, Ellen instead broke down the Disney/Pixar hit from 2016 about Dory - the standout regal blue tang from Finding Nemo who ends up on her own adventure - and Trump's ironic choice to screen the film the day after signing off on the ban.

As Ellen revisits the film, she points out how, upon arriving in America, Dory and her friends are separated by a giant wall that they must get over to get to each other. "You won't believe it, but that wall has almost no effect on keeping them out," Ellen explains to thunderous applause, including our own behind our computer screens. See for yourself here:

There you have it, Ellen DeGeneres used a children's movie to totally scorched Trump without ever once talking politics. If Trump actually sat down and watched the screening on Saturday maybe he picked up a thing or two, however subliminally, about the importance of family, love, and working together. We could certainly use all the Dory optimism we can get right about now.
