It's holiday magic, Hillary style. Saturday Night Live seems to be doing everything in its power to make up for having Donald Trump as a host late last year, and in last night's episode, this sketch truly nailed our desperation. In a virtually frame-by-frame reenactment of Love Actually's iconic flashcard scene, but it's Hillary Clinton at the door, notes in hand, ready to beg a young woman (Cecily Strong) for a moment of her time.
It turns out the young woman is an elector, and Hillary's come armed with facts, The Help quotes, and a large check to try to sway the woman's vote (to literally anything else). What ensues is so real it's less like a sketch and more like our own hearts crawled onto the screen to deliver this silent plea. Watch here:
We hope this sketch actually made its way to some electors who were able to soak in its actually compelling points in these last moments of need. There's never been a more important time to heed Kate-as-Hillary's endless list of warnings.
Oh Saturday Night Live, we're still not going to totally forgive your previous transgressions, but we're glad you're coming at us with real talk now. Better late (/Kate) than never.
