Former child country star Billy Gilman has been crushing it on The Voice since he landed on Team Adam during the blind auditions. But for his second performance since the season went live last week the out singer had people in the audience, including Coach Adam Levine, on the brink of tears with his soaring rendition of Adele's "All I Ask."
Typically, The Voice coaches steer their contestants away from the inimitable Adele, but Billy was up to the task with his emotional performance for the top 11 contestants of the season. The elimination show airs tonight, so we'll have to wait until then to discover if Billy made the cut, but we're going with our gut that he's likely very safe.
While Billy had a fairly successful career in country music as a child, earning a Grammy nomination and releasing a hit Christmas album, he's said on The Voice that his career essentially came to a screeching halt when his voice changed.
Now he's back and hoping to build a pop music career.
