America's Next Top Model Hunk Comes Out As Sexually Fluid And We're In Love
Nyle DiMarco, the incredibly handsome and Deaf star of this season's America’s Next Top Model, recently came out as sexually fluid via Twitter.
An ANTM fan, Kike Garces, tweeted to him: “Nyle you have so much [sic] gay fans!, tell us, boys or girls?”
The star responded: “fluid” and included a link to an article from the website Everyday Feminism. Written by Nigerian-American author Jarune Uwujaren, who also identifies as sexually fluid, the article makes a case for why fluid sexuality is part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum.
In short, fluid sexuality resists clear-cut labelling – much like “queer” – but generally means someone isn’t just attracted to one gender, and that their sexuality will shift and change on a person-by-person basis.
The article debunks a few myths, including the claims that sexually fluid people are “confused” or “just being greedy” (which are misconceptions often hurled at bisexual people as well).
DiMarco made history this season as the first Deaf competitor on the hit TV show. His deafness has caused a variety of conflicts with his fellow competitors and has shown millions of viewers a powerfully personal side of the daily struggles Deaf and hard-of-hearing people face, espcially among hearing people.
He has has used his publicity to spread awareness for the Deaf community, and has even visited deaf children at a school in Riverside, California.
And he definitely has “so much gay fans,” because:
