1. Bamby Salcedo
After growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico, Salcedo immigrated to the U.S. and used her experiences fighting hardships to inspire her to advocate for the greater good. Her work focuses on health education, HIV prevention, mass incarceration and immigration reform. She has founded numerous organizations and initiatives, including Angels of Change, TransLatin@ Coalition and the #TransLivesMatter National Day of Action. Her life story and work is documented in the 2014 film, TransVisible: Bamby Salcedo’s Story.
