TikTok's Newest Obsession With 'Beige Flags' Is Making Us Cackle

New TikTok trend, but make it gay!

Dating in 2023 is a minefield. Meeting people in person is hard, but it can also be difficult to suss out who’s a good person and who is a liar from a profile on a dating or hookup app.

Looking out for red and green flags is key to knowing who is worth your time and who is absolutely not. A red flag like showing up to a first date drunk or lying to you should send you running for the hills, whereas a green flag should have you settling in for the long haul — or renting a U-haul!

But what about “beige flags?” The term has been trending on TikTok recently and refers to things your partner does that may be a little odd or annoying but are completely benign. Basically, a beige flag may make you side-eye your partner, but you'd never break up with them over it.

Most of the TikToks are short videos with overlaying text explaining their partner’s beige flag. Now gay couples are weighing in and we’re loving it! Some are sweet, like the guy whose boyfriend wants to be paid for favors in kisses and others are hilarious, like the woman whose girlfriend calls everything she does “gay.”
