New Fun Home Commercial Reminds Us Why Broadway Is Better with Lesbians

Sure, this Broadway season may be dominated by smash-hit Hamilton and new movie adaptations like Waitress and American Psycho, but last year's favorite Fun Home is still here to remind us why it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Fun Home, which won five Tonys last year including Best Musical, is a beyond beautiful adaptation of lesbian cartoonist Alison Bechdel's memoir detailing her upbringing and relationship with her closeted father who committed suicide. The show's young, Tony-nominated star Sydney Lucas (who made us all cry with her performance of "Ring of Keys") completed her run last year with the show, and this new promo heavily features her replacement - the equally soulful and captivating Gabriella Pizzolo.
