Even if you're not a theater aficionado, you've probably head of Hamilton, the rap musical written by and starring Lin-Manual Miranda about the life of Alexander Hamilton performed mostly be actors of color. The show's Off-Broadway run at The Public was a wild success, and its Broadway run has been nothing short of revolutionary. Tickets are nearly impossible to achieve (though you can try here, if you dare) and the lottery has become an NYC attraction, summoning blocks upon blocks of people to try their luck for one of a handful of $10 tickets offered at every show. But sometimes Hamilton offers more than just mind-blowingly popular performances. Before most Saturday evening and Sunday matinee shows (although the tradition was put to rest today for the winter), Lin-Manuel sets up a special variety-esque act - dubbed #Ham4Ham - to keep everybody entertained, and they've been so successful it's becoming difficult for him to out-do himself. Well, we think he and the Hamilton team finally hit the jackpot with this new rendition the show's popular song "My Shot," featuring only female cast members from the show. Watch the magic happen right here:
Morgan Marcell took on the role of Alexander Hamilton herself, with Renee Elise Goldsberry starring as Lafayette, Sasha Hutchings as Aaron Burr, Jasmine Cephas Jones as John Laurens, and Betsy Struxness as Hercules Mulligan. Emmy Raver, Kamille Upshaw, and Carleigh Bettiol rounded out the ensemble. Though #Ham4Ham will be hibernating now until March, you can still apply for the digital lottery here. They certainly went out with a bang! And just saying, we totally wouldn't mind if these ladies got a "shot" at the whole show...
