There wasn’t likely a dry eye in TV Land once out lesbian The Voice contestant and part of Team Christina De’Borah Garner delivered her visceral rendition of The Fray’s “You Found Me” during the show’s “Knockout Rounds.” De’Borah, the preacher’s daughter who grew up singing in church and eventually came out exhibited her exceptional style and flair as well as her killer vocal chops in a knock-out against Lady Gaga’s former back-up singer, the very lovely Chevonne, who sang a rousing version of “Dancing with Myself.”

Last year NBC’s The Voice featured four lesbian and gay contestants, and this year, although the show’s blind auditions are continuing through to next week, there are already two out contestants to throw your votes behind. This year Erin Martin and Sarah Golden have joined team Cee Lo.

One of the great about-to-be-answered questions of this TV seasons is, “Who will be The Voice?” Will it be either one of the show’s powerhouses, who also happen to be out lesbians, Beverly McClellan and Vicci Martinez? Following a juggernaut season of terrific performances on NBC’s vocal talent show that features coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, The Voice aired its final performance show last night to what this fan would consider some mixed results.

It’s official! “America Loves Singing Lesbians,” as the LA Times headline regarding NBC’s hit singing competition The Voice blithely suggested. In a refreshing twist to the American Idol that has conservative Christians and tween girls voting for the least controversial young male contestant, America has voted to save out lesbians Beverly McClellan and Vicci Martinez on The Voice. And on last night’s results show America’s vote by and large chose the four finalists, two of which are Beverly and Vicci.

Just when you thought the NBC singing competition The Voice couldn’t get any better, LGBT singer/songwriter Sia Furler joins judge Christina Aguilera tonight to mentor her hopeful team.
