It seems Candace Cameron Bure and Raven-Symone's tiff got enough press that "The View" has decided to hire Cameron Bure as a co-host.
ABC made the announcement today, describing her as "a devoted wife and mother of three, who is outspoken and passionate about her faith and her family." Let's take a look at what that passion for her faith has led her to say and do.
1) In 2012, when everyone was blowing up about Chick-Fil-A being against same-sex marriage, Cameron Bure posted a photo of her and her son happily eating Chick-Fil-A to Twitter. The caption read, "We love chikin!" The subtext read, "we are opposed to same-sex marriage!"
2) She has decided to take a subservient role to her husband, former professional hockey player Valeri Bure,
writing in her book, "My husband is a natural-born leader. I quickly learned that I had to find a way of honoring his take-charge personality and not get frustrated about his desire to have the final decision on just about everything. I am not a passive person, but I chose to fall into a more submissive role in our relationship because I wanted to do everything in my power to make my marriage and family work. ... I submit to his leadership."
3) She basically outright said that women can't "be empowered and have it all," because something will have to give. "I'm a woman," she says in her book, "and it's in my God-given nature to be the nurturer and caretaker at home."
4) And lest we not forget,
she argued with Raven-Symone about whether Christians should be required to follow the law if it violates their belief (that gay people should be discriminated against).
To Cameron Bure's credit, she has avoided employing her brother's brand of vehemently anti-gay vitriol, so at least there's that. She's probably still anti-gay rights, but at least she isn't actively campaigning against us too much? Either way, I am really eager to see her and Raven-Symone throw down again.
