S.H.I.E.L.D's Elizabeth Henstridge Talks Skimmons Ship
We're not the only ones who love them.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D star Elizabeth Henstridge confirmed her continued support for an on-screen romance between her biochemist Jemma Simmons and Chloe Bennet's Skye.
Speaking at Sydney's Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Australia on Sunday, Henstridge mentioned that Jemma's (platonic) love for Skye. When asked which female character she would like to see Simmons have a relationship with, Henstridge replied immediately “Oh Skye” to great applause before continuing that she is equally eager for this ship as the far more canon FitzSimmons relationship.
Henstridge and Bennet have been captaining the Skimmons ship since early in S.H.I.E.L.D's first season season when both the actresses and their characters became close friends. When Bennet was asked in a Reddit AMA last year what she thought of Skimmons she replied “I SHIP THAT SHIT SO HARD.” So do we Chloe. So do we.
For now we will settle for sharing a little bit of the actress's friendship from social media, while hoping they one day get their #skimmons dream.
