Diana, we hardly knew ye. Just a week after her debut on the Dancing With The Stars stage, sexagenarian swimmer Diana Nyad was eliminated from the celebrity dance competition in last place.
The long-running reality show's new voting format means contestants are eliminated based on the previous week's performance. Based on her score of 18 out of 30 from the judges on her foxtrot -- and a low number of viewer votes -- Nyad was cut before she could even perform her cha-cha-cha this week.
"For nine years, I've wanted to do this show," she said. "It's spectacular, the spirit of it." She also paid tribute to her professional dance partner, Henry Byalitov, expressing regret she couldn't have helped him stay on longer.
Despite being eliminated before dancing this week, Nyad and Byalitov got the chance to perform out of competition and end on a high note. Watch Nyad's final dance below:
