At long last, the cruising app Sniffies has launched an iOS app that brings its “game-changing, map-based experience to mobile like never before.”
Personally, I didn’t use Sniffies that often, largely due to its website-only access. That said, I have utilized it in the past to advertise my naked yoga classes and tantric workshops, which have always yielded good results.
Still, I wanted to download the app to see what the differences (and similarities) were to the online platform and whether the app was really worth the download and switch.
One key difference with the app is that it requires you to have or create an account rather than be able to use the platform completely anonymously. Within the account creation, you’re also required to use a “common provider” like Gmail or Yahoo.
The app also opens you into Vanilla Mode immediately. It requires you to enable everything else via the website (though it automatically links you and takes you back to the app, so it’s not too much of a hassle.)
There are few difference between the app and website as far as the interface or the menu options. The key to the app is its ability to seamlessly toggle between safe-for-work and default modes, the ability to have enhanced real-time notifications, and a native device for having quicker access to the Sniffies map, which has been optimized for iOS.
To be clear, this app wasn’t made in response to recent laws enacted by conservative politicians in almost half of all states. "Nothing about the new laws being passed had anything to do with the creation of the app," Sniffies representative Mark Holcomb tells PRIDE. "We launched the app to bring more ease of the Sniffies platform to our cruisers."
“Sniffies has always been about breaking barriers and real-time connections easier,” CEO and Founder Blake Gallagher said in a press release. “With the iOS app, we’re giving our Cruisers an even more seamless way to explore, connect, and play — wherever they are.”
Android users, never fear: Although the app is currently only available through iOS, the Android version is currently under development and should be ready for your enjoyment soon, because it’s definitely worth it.
