Grindr announced that it is now offering a desktop version of its uber-popular LGBTQ+ hookup app. But don’t worry — the mobile app we all know and love isn't going anywhere!
The new desktop version, dubbed Grindr Web, will offer users more flexibility so that people can use the dating platform whenever and wherever they want. It will also include new features that are currently not available on the mobile app.
Now, not only will Grindr photos will be bigger, but you’ll also be able to see six profiles across the grid while you’re still browsing. Talk about multitasking!
In a press statement, the company claims that Grindr Web offers “a new way for our community to stay connected right from their computer. Now you can browse and chat from the comfort of your own laptop or on the go via your mobile browser.”
Oh, and you won’t have to worry about getting caught looking at hot guys, because the company has built in a fail-safe function where you can press the ESC key three times to close Grindr Web and open Google instead.
“With Grindr Web, you can chat with a possible hookup while you answer your boss’s email on your phone,” the release reads.
According to Grindr, using the web version will also be good for folks who are still in the closet and may not feel comfortable having the app on their phone.
For now, Grindr Web is only available to its “XTRA” and Unlimited subscribers, which cost $19.99 per month and $39.99 per month, respectively.
Even if you have zero interest in the new version of Grindr, do yourself a favor and head on over to “gay Twitter” and read the hilarious reactions to the news. You won’t regret it!
I get "chat faster", but what does "browse bigger" mean without implied subtext? oO
