Taylor Swift Apologized For Making Nicki Minaj's Tweets All About Her
Everyone can rest easy. If you were holding your breath, unable to sleep because you were worried about how Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj were holding up after their Twitter exchange and the media coverage that ensued, then breathe easy because ... T-Swift has spoken, and Nicki spoke back, from her Twitter throne.
The golden child of pop music has taken the high road and released a "public statement" (or at least that's what pop stars probably used to do before social media existed and they can now just write tweets with their PR people presumably telling them what to tweet to make it look authentic ... though, I don't doubt this is a sincere apology from T-Swift. I'm sure she realized afterwards that Nicki was right, and she was never coming after Taylor.)
Nicki Minaj, obviously also taking the mature high road of as a powerful, intelligent and awesome pop star, responded to Taylor's apology as well:
“That means so much Taylor, thank you. @taylorswift13 ❤️❤️❤️”— Nicki Minaj (@Nicki Minaj) 1437668787
Truly what a wonderful world we live in, right? Have we achieved world peace? Is literally ANYTHING possible now? I feel hopeful that future pop star Twitter exchanges will look back on this moment in pop star history and say to themselves, "Wow, let's stop. Let's take the high road like the way our queens Taylor and Nicki once did, back in that historic day of July 2015."
I mean, if Nicki and Taylor can come to a truce, who knows what'll happen? Maybe they'll make a new song together? That is allegedly what Taylor and Kanye are going to do, after resolving that whole spat between the two.
No. more. Bad blood. (It's hard to resist not making bad jokes given the opportunity.)
Taylor is known for always rolling with a squad of powerful women such as Lena Dunham, Haim, Lorde and Selena Gomez, among others. Truly #SquadGoals. Does this mean she might try to roll up Nicki in her squad? Will Nicki oblige and invite her into her own personal squad as well?
We shall wait and see.
“I've always loved her. Everyone makes mistakes. She gained so much more respect from me. Let's move on. https://t.co/mx9pfIdnzT”— Nicki Minaj (@Nicki Minaj) 1437669499
