The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. became the latest Gleeks on Tuesday as its four nominations for Fox's Glee led the TV mentions in line for the 67th annual Golden Globes. Rue McClanahan, who was one of two remaining Golden Girls, died from a massive stroke Thursday at age 76.
The Golden Girl who played Blanche Deveraux on the wildly popular sitcom from 1985 to 1992 suffered a stroke earlier this year while recovering from bypass surgery. Rue's death leaves Betty White -- who has been having a career resurgence -- as the last surviving Golden Girl. Bea died in from cancer just last year and Estelle Getty passed away in 2008.
This already sounds so gay.
Here's the Orange is the New Black intro if you took out Regina Spektor and added The Golden Girls theme song. Thank you, Internet!

This year featured actresses nominated in LGBT or gender bending roles – like Rooney Mara for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Glenn Close and Janet McTeer for Albert Nobbs. Winner Meryl Streep shouted out to the lesbian-themed film Pariah while Ricky Gervais mentioned Jodie Foster’s “beaver” – in front of her kids no less – and Madonna attempted to jibe the sharp-tongued host by calling him a girl. Jodie Foster's Beaver.
We can't wait for how campy and hilarious this is going to be.

One of our all-time favorite Golden Girls was a guest on James Lipton’s Inside the Actors Studio and we have a few clips to share before the episode airs tomorrow evening! Lipton chatted with White about her life-changing role as “Rose Nylund” on The Golden Girls. The character made her a staple in the LGBT community and carved out a comfortable niche for which she is still regarded today. White recalls the rigors of working on the Saturday Night Live set and how they managed to get her in and out of her costumes in a timely fashion.
