As I nurse my third major hangover of the season, I've been thinking about what I, as a lesbian, could not possibly live without, and in the spirit of the holidays compiled Top 10 Things Every Lesbian Should Be Thankful For. I'm trying to stay as far away from stereotypes as possible so flannels, Birkenstocks, mullets, Tevas, cats, Katherine Moennig, and women's basketball are not on my list. Included are Sarah Waters, South of Nowhere, beer, high heels and Facebook.

Just when it looked as though fans of the most adorable lesbian doctor couple on television would have to wait another at least another week for a snippet of a Calzona story line, the powers that be at Grey’s Anatomy tossed in a sweet little adoption rights story that will surely be continued.

A Mom of four, a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and breast cancer survivor Leslie Ezelle is making waves as the first out gay female contestant on HGTV’s Design Star. An interior designer who hails from Dallas, Ezelle's on-screen personality reflects a down-home sensibility with a big dash of modern chic. Passionate beyond belief about everything from design to her heyday as a professional cheerleader to her fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Foundation Ezelle's energy is infectious.

The nine-month wait for Season 4 of True Blood proved to be worth it as the foundation for plenty of twists and turns (both in the sack and out) was highlighted by Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) new lust for the ladies (and new identity as a lesbian cage fighter named Toni). Series creator Alan Ball says "We felt like it was time for Tara to stop being the victim. It was time for Tara to really take charge of her life in a way that would be surprising and would give us some fun places to go story wise."
