While McKinley High’s most adorable girl/girl couple of Cheerios ever, Santana and Brittany, have been presumably in a happy, healthy relationship since they said “I do” to being girlfriends last November, but there has been little more than the occasional hand-hold or hug that’s passed between the two, leaving fans begging for some “sweet lady kisses” between the lovebirds.

For Glee fans who haven’t quite latched on to the new characters producers have tried so hard to force feed to die-hard fans of the original cast, Naya Rivera’s presence is always welcomed when there’s a Santana-centric, or even adjacent, episode. It took more than half of the season but the writers finally got Santana to New York where she can interact with other Glee old timers Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele). Vulture nabbed Naya for a sit-down about the big Brittana break-up earlier this year and a few other Santana-specific storylines that have recently evolved.

Now, Naya Rivera, the ultra-talented actress and vocalist who plays Santana, tells The Hollywood Reporter that “Santana is at a crossroads” following her break with Brittany (Heather Morris).

With Glee’s season finale airing Tuesday night, all eyes — at least for SheWired-- are squarely focused on McKinley’s High’s resident closet case lesbian Santana, but actress Naya Rivera’s rising star has been spotted by more than the lesbian community, leading to a feature on Rivera in Tuesday’s L.A. Times.

Much ado has been made about Glee’s “The First Time” episode in which two of McKinley High’s most beloved couples lose their virginity to each other. The school’s resident lesbian takes on the role made famous by the likes of Chita Rivera on Broadway and Rita Moreno in the big screen version, and kills on “A Boy Like That” with Rachel (Lea Michelle) singing Maria’s part and on the ensemble number “America.”

It was announced, what feels like, ages ago that Gloria Estefan would appear on Glee as McKinley High's most adorable lesbian Cheerio ever Santana’s mom Maribel Lopez, and that moment finally arrives tomorrow for the season finale.

Glee is as good as it gets when it features McKinley High’s lesbian Cheerio Santana (Naya Rivera), and the great news is that she’s got a big arc coming up in an episode in early January. Just last week it was announced that superstar Gloria Estefan would be playing Santana’s mother, and now rapper Pitbull is in talks to play her brother.

This week’s Glee was all about bullying -- and mash-ups –- but the overarching theme was bullying, and the hottest closeted lesbian cheerleader this side of the Mississippi – or anywhere really – Santana got as good as she gave in the bullying department in the episode entitled “Mash Off.”

While Glee has offered, since its inception, a groundbreaking storyline for its main gay Kurt, including a bullying story and the touching relationship he has with his dad, the show has rarely veered to the Sapphic side save for some playful kissing and a mention of ‘scissoring’ between Santana and Brittany. But hold on to your Cheerios' uniform because Glee dropped a big lesbian bomb this week. And Gwyneth Paltrow is on hand to make it all happen.

This week's episode of Glee, entitled “I Kissed a Girl,” was more lez than Lilith Fair, and that’s not a bad thing! The only thing missing was a “Power of Two” / “Nothing Compares to You” mash-up.

Following a month-long hiatus the Glee gods took pity on Brittana fans and threw us a bone this week – and while spoilers promised that the most adorable girl / girl couple on Primetime this side of Calzona would be a full-on affair, sadly, there was no montage of their first blush of a relationship.

Last week McKinley High’s resident closeted lesbian Santana put on her best butch and came to Kurt and Blaine’s defense against bully Dave Karofsky, but even then she failed to reveal her Sapphic leanings after having been rebuffed by Brit. But this week on Glee’s 90-minute super-sized, Gaga-inspired episode Santana -- with a little inspiration from her true love Brittany -- edged out of the closet.
