It's GLBT History Month and for the fourth year, the Equality Forum is spotlighting 31 men and women who have had an impact on the GLBT community. Among the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people being featured are Rachel Maddow, Suze Orman, k.d. Lang, Cherry Jones, Hillary Rosen and Urvashi Vaid.

Talk show host, entertainer and lovable lesbian extraordinaire Ellen DeGeneres has a new book coming out October 4 called "Seriously... I'm Kidding." The volume, written by Ellen herself, contains personal stories, solid advice and outrageous fiction.

Is it October yet?

Following a summer full of sold-out shows across the U.S., electro-pop duo Uh Huh Her -- Leisha Hailey (keyboards, bass) and Camila Grey (keyboards, guitar) -- are gearing up for the release of Nocturnes, their forthcoming full-length album due out October 11, and to headline the Keep A Breast music tour.

October is LGBT History Month, and each day this month the achievements of 31 different lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender icons will be honored. Kye Allums, Alison Bechdel, Rita Mae Brown and Denise Eger are among the icons being celebrated this year who were featured at the beginning of the month. Wanda Sykes will be honored on October 28, 2011. Also being honored are Lady Gaga (October 12), Victoria Kolakowski (October 20), Amelie Mauresmo (October 23) and Constance McMillan (October 24).
