American Idol alum Katharine McPhee has joined the cast of the highly anticipated NBC pilot Smash. As previously announced, former Will & Grace star Debra Messing will headline the ambitious drama, which depicts the struggle to mount a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe.
Many of your favorite Broadway stars teamed up to produce a video for the "It Gets Better" project to help protect against teen suicide in the LGBT community. Stars in this video include Cherry Jones, Sarah Paulson, Judy Gold, Robyn Goodman, Audra McDonald and dozens more. With the release of this video, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has donated $25,000 to The Trevor Project in the name of the Broadway community.
