iPhone App Can Cure You of Your Gay!

LGBT activists and allies are upset about the iPhone app just released by “ex-gay” group Exodus International. The app, according to Exodus’s website, is “designed to be a useful resource for men, women, parents, students, and ministry leaders,” and has received a 4+ rating from iPhone maker Apple, meaning it carries “no objectionable content.” However, Truth Wins Out, which has started a petition against the app at Change.org, points out that Exodus endorses “reparative therapy” to change a person’s sexual orientation — something that has been discredited by all major medical organizations and is “very damaging to the self-esteem and mental health of its victims.”

House Republicans Recruit Bush-Era Lawyer to Defend DOMA

House Republicans have recruited former Solicitor General Paul Clement to represent the government in federal cases challenging the Defense of Marriage Act. House attorneys are expected to file a motion to intervene in Windsor v. United States of America in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Edie Windsor sued after the federal government refused to recognize her marriage to Thea Spyer, who died in 2009. As a result of DOMA, Windsor was forced to pay estate tax — a six-figure bill she would have been exempt from were her marriage recognized.

Pageant Brings Debate: Perez vs Prager

I just watched a clip of Perez Hilton and Dennis Prager’s marriage debate from Larry King Live Tuesday. I was struck by Hilton’s integrity and countenance.  Prager’s arguments were frustrating, to say the least. The Good, the Bad and the Beatie

Thomas Beatie became known as the world's first pregnant man and now he is pregnant with baby number three. Some argue that because he is a trans man, it's not the same. We are just like other American men -- nerds, cowboys, suits, metrosexuals, jocks, chauvinist pigs, etc. Maybe by admitting that, by being forced to see ourselves reflected in Beatie’s mirror, we’ll find a way to accept ourselves as we are, with all our flaws, even as we struggle to show the world our true diversity. Trans man Jacob Anderson-Minshall breaks down the Beatie debate.
