I was just binge-watching The L Word on Netflix this weekend… I’d like to say it’s only because it’s interesting from a cultural perspective to re-watch it at this juncture, but really, it’s just plain hot and a total guilty pleasure. Anyway, I was thinking that Katherine Moennig was really terrific as Shane (the passage of time has allowed me to enjoy her nuances) and I began to wonder why she doesn’t get more work. Well, this behind-the-scenes video from the new Showtime series Ray Donovan and lo and behold, there’s Moennig in all of her glory playing the assistant to Liev Schreiber’s Ray, a PI/cleaner to the stars of sorts.
Casting for Showtime’s Ray Donovan is currently underway, and TVLine is reporting that The L Word hottie Kate Moennig was added to the roster. Moennig, best known for playing Shane, the promiscuous lady killer on Showtime’s The L Word, can also be seen on the silver screen this spring in Gone, a suspense thriller starring Amanda Seyfried.
There really isn’t anything Angelina Jolie can’t do. The 35-year-old actress does most of her own stunts and is still scaling buildings and leaping onto moving trucks as zealously as ever. Thank goodness for that because it’s her intensity that keeps the craziness that is 'Salt' afloat.
Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday morning and some of our favorite Broadway gals made the list, while others were left in the lurch. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury scored nominations for the musical revival "A Little Night Music." The lovely Scarlett Johansson joined the nominees for her role in "A View From the Bridge." Sarah Ruhl's historical dramedy "In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play," picked up a Best Play nomination. View the complete list of Tony noms.
