This fall the LGBT Campus Center (LGBT CC) launched Stop the Silence, a campaign to address LGBTQ bullying on college campuses.

The staff at the LGBT Community Center of New York City arrived at work on Wednesday to find that a rainbow flag that once flew in front of the building had been burned. But staff members will not be intimidated at the lesbian and gay center, says director Glennda Testone.

Constance McMillen, the teen who sued her Mississippi high school after officials canceled the prom rather than let her bring her girlfriend and wear a tux, stopped by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center on Saturday, March 27. Country music superstar Chely Wright’s LIKEME Organization will open its first LIKEME Lighthouse on March 10th in Kansas City. On Saturday, March 10th at noon, the Lighthouse will officially open with a short ribbon cutting ceremony and silent art auction. Floyd Lee Corkins, II, the 28-year-old LGBT center volunteer who allegedly shot and wounded a security guard at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, has been charged with federal and District of Columbia offenses and will make his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, which is prosecuting the case.

The Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center celebrated 40 years of service to the LGBT community on November 12 with a star-studded gala and auction. Neil Patrick Harris, his partner David Burtka and Chaz Bono were honored during a program hosted by Leslie Jordan. Jane Lynch, David Arquette, Karina Smirnoff, Dita Von Teese, Meredith Baxter and Sara Gilbert were also in attendance.
