For years medical professionals have advised women over the age of 40 to get annual breast exams as a way to detect cancerous tumors. However, the new guidelines from the U.S. Preventive Service Task Force, which shun breast self-exams and suggest only women between the ages of 50 and 74 get mammograms every other year, are startling to some, while others welcome the recommendations. However, the new guidelines fail to mention lesbians.

The pejorative term "That's so gay" remains ubiquitous on college campuses and, according to a new study, causes long-term harm to LGBT students who hear it.

David Barton, the evangelical Christian founder of the group Wallbuilders, thinks that the federal government should regulate gay sex the way it does alcohol, cigarettes, and certain harmful food ingredients. Barton and his co-host Rick Green made the bigoted proposal during their Wallbuilders radio program on Tuesday, in which they butchered health statistics to argue for one area where their limited government agenda could make room for federal intervention.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison LGBT Campus Center is fed up with the name-calling, the violence, the suicides, the hate. They filmed this video on Bascom Hill at UW Madison to show the impact of bullying on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer individuals.
