The cringe is far too much.
“Forever growing and changing,” they wrote.
And this isn't the rapper's first anti-gay offence...
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will have another intense battle this year: Lady Gaga nabbed the most nominations, with thirteen, and Eminem is not far behind with eight nominations. Both Gaga and Em are hoping to take home the Video of the Year Moonman on September 12, at 9:00 pm EST. The other videos up for Video of the Year are "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine, "Kinds and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars, and "Airplanes" by B.o.B. featuring Hayley Williams. Up against Lady Gaga for Best Female Video are Katy Perry's "California Gurls," which features Snoop Dog, Ke$ha's "Tik Tok," and Taylor Swift's "Fifteen."
Sia will donate proceeds from "Beautiful Pain" to the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center.
The battle of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon with Eminem continued Monday as Carey's new single "Obsessed" music video shoot had her dressed in costume as Eminem. Scenes were filmed at New York's Plaza Hotel with Carey playing a man in two costumes. With the exception of the beard she sports in both, she looks just like the rapper (and it's not very flattering).
Female rap superstar Nicki Minaj has a special place in her heart for OUT magazine and her gay fans in general. The "Pink Friday" diva talks touring with Britney and hwo she felt about Eminem using a homophobic slur on her track "Roman's Revenge."
While Eminem may be leading the nominations with 10 nods, we’re way more excited at the thought of Lady Gaga, Florence & the Machine, the cast of Glee, Goldfrapp, Robyn, or La Roux snagging a golden statuette. The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will include a new category for Best Video With A Message, following the outpouring of artists mobilizing to support bullied youth, reject LGBT discrimination and emphasize self worth. The nominees are Pink for "Fuckin' Perfect," Lady Gaga for "Born This Way," Katy Perry for "Firework," Eminem featuring Rihanna for "Love The Way You Lie," Rise Against for "Make It Stop (September's Children)" and Taylor Swift for "Mean."
A little show called ‘The Grammy Awards’ aired Sunday night and everybody was Tweeting about it! And while there were some strong performances including Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Christina Aguilera and Yolanda Adams paying tribute to Aretha Franklin, Rihanna, Eminem busting it out and Gwyneth Paltrow proving her vocal chops with Cee Lo Green and a bunch of Muppets, nothing really quite caught our attention like P!nk’s aerial performance of "Glitter in the Air” at last year’s show. It got us thinking about some of our favorite performances from Grammy show’s gone by including Annie Lennox in drag, Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone toasting Janis Joplin and Janet Jackson taking the world by storm in the late 80’s. Gaga, lesbian icon k.d. Lang, Sinead O'Connor and more...
Come correct!
Lesbian and gay advocate Lady Gaga rode the torrent of popularity she has and enjoyed since the summer of 2008 and dominated MTV's Video Music Awards Sunday night with eight wins, including Video of the Year and Best Collaboration, with Beyoncé, for the epic "Telephone" video. Kanye West introduced a new song, "Runaway," recalling his scandalous appearance at the VMAs last year with Taylor Swift, who sang "Innocence," which also expressed her feelings on the turbulence from last year.
