The new Mike Flanagan joints looks like it's going to be a mob movie meets a spooky horror flick!
For the new mini series Mike Flanagan is adapting Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher.
Television has become the go-to spot for terrific actresses. Now Sigourney Weaver joins the increasing number of Oscar bait thespians like Glenn Close, Sally Field and Jessica Lange who’ve made the leap to the small screen with Weaver’s Political Animals debuting on USA this July 15, and running for five episodes
Kara DioGuardi's in and Paula Abdul's out on Fox's American Idol, Charlize Theron becomes a lawman and Alyssa Milano being romantically challenged top the headlines as Amy Poehler, Laura Dern, Swoosie Kurtz and Carla Gugino also star in this week's Hollywood Trade Roundup.
What’s Sucker Punch? It’s the story of a young girl (Emily Browning) in the 1950s, who creates a fantasy world to live in after being sent to a mental institution, who then decides to escape with the help of some of the other patients. Emily Browning, a generally unrecognized Australian actress who took the part of Baby Doll after Amanda Seyfried dropped out, already looks like the fiercest pro around. Emily’s Sucker Punch costars include a Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino and, breaking the Disney trend, Vanessa Hudgens.
Cole Sprouse becomes the perfect man (duh) in this subversive and charming horror comedy.
Billed as a limited series event the heavy-hitting cast is anchored by Sigourney Weaver, the Oscar-nominated actress who has squared off with both aliens and gorillas on the big screen. While the woman who breathed life into Ripley in the Alien films is pretty much reason enough to tune in to Political Animals there is plenty more to love about the series, which is sure to become a guilty pleasure for politicos and soap lovers alike.
There is no time like the present to catch up on the premiere of USA Network’s Sigourney Weaver starrer Political Animals, a perfect mélange of a ripped-from-the-annals-of-recent-history homage to Hillary Clinton and a down and dirty nighttime soap on par with the likes of Revenge. And, if you get on board now for the six-episode ‘limited series event’ from Brothers and Sisters and Dawson’s Creek producer Greg Berlanti, you can win nearly $400 in Political Animals-themed swag.
Charity + buckets of water + our favorite celebs? This could very well be our favorite social media craze yet!
TV is the go-to spot for Oscar bait actresses these days, and if USA’s upcoming Political Animals weren’t enticing enough with Sigourney Weaver starring as cutthroat Secretary of State Elaine Barrish, The Hollywood Reporter reported recently that acting legend Vanessa Redgrave will guest star on the series as a lesbian Supreme Court Justice, who just happens to be pals with Weaver’s Barrish.
There is a moment in just about every workday when we come across something sexy, gratuitous and completely pointless that we wish we could post but don't under the auspices of there being nothing lesbian about it and often there being no redeeming value. Well, we at SheWired have made an executive decision to just throw any of our pseudo-feminist caution to the wind and to just post our fave shot of the day, whether it be sexy, salacious, or just because... Today’s shot is every fantasy fans’ desires come to life: the ladies of Zach Snyder’s visually stunning 'SuckerPunch' assume their alluring ass-kicking stance in a brand new poster for the film.
I’m pretty sure my fangirl shrieks of glee could be heard across the Dallas/Fort Worth area when the teaser trailer for Sucker Punch, 300 director Zack Snyder’s newest breathtakingly beautiful and presumably hyper-violent venture, was released this past Monday. Emily Browning, a generally unrecognized Australian actress who took the part of Baby Doll after Amanda Seyfried dropped out, already looks like the fiercest pro around.
