The first trailer for Strut, the latest reality offering from the Oxygen network, dropped yesterday, and by the looks of it, it's going to be one fiercely entertaining reality show.

Produced by the iconic and legendary Whoopi Goldberg, Strut follows the lives of up-and-coming trans models Laith De La Cruz, Isis King, Dominique Jackson, Ren Spriggs, and Arisce Wanzer as they try to break into the mainstream world of fashion, a world that isn't always so positively inclusive of transgender people.

All models featured in Strut are signed to (the appropriately named) Slay Model Management, a modeling agency that exclusively works with and promotes transgender models.

"Our models come from all walks of life, all different backgrounds and ethnicities. They are struggling with things we can all relate to — trying to make ends meet, fighting to make a name for themselves and navigating the minefields of personal relationships," Whoopi said of the show in a statement reported by NBC News.

She continued:

"All of these struggles are amplified by the fact that they are also fighting to break down barriers and taking on the responsibility of representing the transgender community in today's society. It's time to separate caricature from real people and that's what we are doing with Strut."

Watch the full-length trailer for Strut in the video below, and catch the premiere on Tuesday, September 20 at 9pm on Oxygen.
