Lately, it seems Amandla Stenberg can do no wrong. She is a passionate, outspoken advocate for equality, justice, and diverse representation. Additionally, she is a talented actress, fierce speaker, and a powerful creative mind.
And now she has blown us away in a beautiful new film for Stella McCartney's fragrance, POP.
The video, directed by Melina Matsoukas, starring Stenberg, Grimes, Lola Leon, and Kenya Kinski-Jones premiered on McCartney's site this morning and illustrates the women embarking on what the site describes as "a journey of self-discovery in the California desert."
POP is introduced on the site as "the scent for the new generation of Stella girls; independent but strengthened by their togetherness," a mantra that would appear to be very in line with Stenberg's own beliefs and teachings.
This is not the first time Stenberg has made a welcome, unexpected cameo in a beautiful film. Fans might recall her brief, yet powerful appearance in Beyonce's Lemonade Film:
Though we can't say we're surprised that McCartney has become so taken with Stenberg (After all, so have we). The designer has described the young star as "strong, opinionated, and a true inspiration."
We couldn't agree more, Ms. McCartney. And until Amandla gifts us with her next new project, we'll be here watching this stunning fragrance ad over and over.
